Kind, smart, outdoorsy and I like to get out and do new things, but can be a bit of an introvert.
While I would not describe myself as an activist, I am politically and socially quite liberal. I am a teacher and previously worked in health care, so being of service to others in my community is important to me and drives my concern about social issues. I have lived overseas a couple of different times (4 years in Chile, 1 year in Indonesia) and these experiences of being a religious, ethnic, and linguistic minority/outsider have made me sensitive to those walking that path here in the U.S.
I love being outside hiking, skiing, walking, and sailing, but hunting, and motocross/motorcycles are not my thing. I am not opposed to them, in theory, but they aren't activities I choose to engage in.
I enjoy new experiences and places, but am not a super planner and often just go and see what adventure unfolds. I enjoy classical, bluegrass, mo-town, 90's grunge, classic rock, can sing along with some Ozzy, rap, and hip hop, and know lots of the lyrics to current top 40 songs (I have 3 tweens/teens), but I am not someone who has a constant sound track to my life. My house is usually quiet when I am alone and I am more likely to be listening to NPR as I drive, than music. I enjoy novelty in new experiences, art, and the personal and fashion expression of others, but am fairly moderate in my own behavior. No body art, edgy fashion statements, and I don't drink! Not opposed morally to alcohol, but I won't make a good drinking buddy ;)
