I am working on my PhD in ecology (wondering how humans are affecting ant communities in Australian eucalypt forests). Getting ready to take my first surfing vacation (should be interesting since I have grown up in a land locked state: Colorado). Being more social and willing to go with the flow. Perfecting the incomplete sentence. Wondering if publication of my first book of poetry will overshadow completion of my dissertation.

Then there is the more abstract version: Learning to face fears and embrace desire. Stumbling, getting up, moving forward, sometimes not. Finding the joy in experimenting and taking care of the loose ends that I seemed to have missed.
