I am a lifelong backpacker and former AT thru-hiker, and since moving to NY I have spent as much time as possible feeding the blackflies up in the Adirondacks. I am new to kayaking, but recently got my own boat and took my first kayak camping trip, in the St Regis Canoe Area. When I'm not in the woods, I do a lot of (slow) running. I am hoping to do my first marathon this fall (Syracuse), just to finish. Despite all this, I'm really not fitness-obsessed...I spend most of my time reading, researching, and writing. I'm looking for someone who is both outdoor-friendly and intellectually curious: a running or hiking partner, or a paddler who would like to show a newbie around the local waterways.

Any green geeks out there?
