Recently I was jogging the morning and met my neighbor, who regularly walks his dog. He said "You are very disciplined runner". Indeed I do, I jog every morning.
It is not a discipline, there is a very simple reason for exercise- I feel better afterward. I jog 2.5 to 3.5 then I never need coffer in the morning.
Later in the day I have less chance to move, I work as software developer in Microsoft. I love my job, especially since I moved to research organization. I work close to home, 5 minutes running (8-10 walking if I take lunch with me, inconvenient to run with backpack ).
Some people tole me they do not like working close to home, it feels like you are always at work. For me it is opposite, it feels like I never leave home. It is like I have extra room (in addition to our apartment) which is completely my own. I come there, write software, experiment with data, write/read mails, talk with people, demonstrate results of my work. What could be better? So I plan to stay in Microsoft for many years ahead and it solves my financial problems too.
At home I have 3 sons, ages 12, 18 and 21, two older are in college/university. They need to be more independent now, after my wife passed away, but we still "operate" as a family. I spend time with them prepare food at home, mostly from raw ingredients. We do homemade pizza, I have bread machine and mix fresh dough ( It only takes 10 min of my time to start dough, 2 hours to rise ). Me or my son do then pizza and it we do it differently, so there is some competition.
I have sweet tooth, like jams a lot. But all ready jams have too much sugar and pectin, not enough fruits. I do my myself, usually 2/3 fruits, 1/3 sugar, no extra water. Raspberry is my favorite here, also plums, apricots, cranberry and apples. Sour cherries would be my favorite, but the problem - there are no good sour cherries in US, this is a real disappoint.
This summer I climbed Rainier with two older sons. It was not easy, this time it was cold and windy day, but to be honest it is never easy. I climbed all other major volcanoes around, except of Glacier Peak.
In winter we ski, the favorite place is Crystal Mountain. I can do blue lines, but on black I struggle. My older sons definitely do better than I, so we ski separately, I am left with younger one.
I am looking for romantic partner with whom I can share outdoor activities.
