I'm an outdoorsy nature lover full of fire an grit. I am passionate about my vocation, about learning, and living a deep, playful and positive existence.

I am a physically active person and I enjoy hiking, backpacking, running, cycling, and climbing - not to be competitive, just to be. I enjoy road trips, travel, hot springs, Kabuki, Harbin (praying it's rebuilt soon), and healing/restorative retreats. I am devoutly in love with the southwestern deserts and the high Sierra and spend much of my personal vacation time exploring these places both solo and with friends. Spiritually, I feel most grounded and experience most of my personal growth through meditation and being in nature.

I was born and raised in various parts of southern CA and I broke out of the Orange Curtain as soon as I could when I was 17. I experienced my fair share of adversity growing up. I was raised mostly by my mother and she is my primary family in addition to my family of choice. I've been home based in the Bay Area since 1999 (and we partied like it was - RIP Prince) although there have been many iterations of my life here. I've watched this place change substantially and myself along with it. While I will likely move someday I do not see myself ever living east of the Rockies. I currently live with two housemates, one of whom is a best friend since childhood.

On the queer spectrum I am masculine of center, not super attached to butch/femme roles and like to feel fluid in my gender expression and sexuality. Yes, pun intended.

I live and breath my vocation. Not because I'm a work-aholic, simply because I really like it. I direct an outdoor adventure program (full time year round) for youth designed to empower young women, promote social justice and create opportunities for girls to strengthen their self esteem. I also have a healing/bodywork private practice (part time).

I am very drawn to art and music. I am learning how to play the piano (am learning music for the first time actually), and last year I took a year's worth of classes in metal/jewelry work. Art keeps me awake, learning and conscious so I am always engaging with some kind of art class or the like.
