I'm a physician-scientist (in training) seeking a fellow (tri)athlete who loves being outdoors and is committed to personal growth and being part of a spiritual community. I love running*, biking, and open-water swimming and have completed one Ironman triathlon, three marathons, and an olympic-distance triathlon (in addition to many smaller races). I love pushing my boundaries but will freely confress that the race is just an excuse to get outside and have fun for the months preceding it. I am not competitive, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy getting faster! My goal is to be healthy and active now and for the rest of my life. My next race aspiration is to do an open-water race like an Alcatraz crossing or Liberty to Liberty swim.
Being currently in medical school, my time to train is limited, but I would love to combine my love of being outdoors with meeting new awesome people! I am actively part of a progressive Christian experimental community and really am looking for someone who would treasure and challenge his faith with me. I hope to grow not just physically more fit, but also stronger in faith, hope, and love.
Other random stuff: I own a lot of plants, more than I can keep up watering; like painting and super-complex origami, but not as much as being outside; am vegetarian and cook quite decently; really want to take a wilderness medicine course next year; and secretly am training to be an astronaut.
Also, after a childhood as a complete bookworm, I am making up for it by trying to have all those experiences in real life! I would love to have someone to share these adventures with, so if this describes you, please send me a message!
*Caveat: I just sprained my ankle, so unfortunately running is out of the picture for me at the moment.
