Being outside = Being happy. I relish the simple pleasures of life and try to avoid any unnecessary stress. Although money must play a role in everyone's life, I don't believe you can buy happiness. The glass is usually half full for me.
I play a lot of soccer and can be found running the trails (or streets) at least a couple of times a week. I love to get dirty so mountain biking also gets a fair amount of attention. I enjoy the snowy serenity of winter and ride the powdery fluff whenever i am given the chance (although i can't bring myself to snowboard in PA anymore). I enjoy hiking (or snowshoeing) and camping as well. I like to be active!
I listen to a wide variety of music, but i usually steer away from anything that's too heavy. Some examples include Rusted Root, Jack Johnson, Cake, Allman Brothers, OAR, Dave Mathews, Blues Traveler, Norah Jones). I also listen to classical on occasion and traditional jazz has been a favorite in the last few years. I thoroughly enjoy cooking, home improvement activities, and gardening. I like old houses with character and prefer things rustic and simple rather than ornate.
I love adventure too. In 2004 i traveled across the country from the middle of August through the middle of October. I camped most of the time and filled the days by visiting a variety of towns and exploring the vast beauty of our National Parks (Acadia, Rocky Mountain, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Glacier, Yellowstone, Tetons) and other wild lands. Absolutely amazing. I then spent the winter in Breckenridge enjoying the ample snowfall. In the summer of 2006 i headed west again........this time i went to a semester at the National Outdoor Leadership School. I was at least 10 years older than all of the other students, but it didn't matter. We spent time in Idaho, Montana, Washington and Oregon. We earned our WFR certification, backpacked, rock climbed, white water canoed and white water rafted. What a rewarding experience! Since then I've spent most of my vacations exploring the mountains of Pennsylvania, New England, North Carolina or the west and I was lucky enough to spend another winter in Colorado too!
Just to reiterate............i do love the outdoors!
My match would most likely be somebody who also enjoys the simple pleasures of life. Probably not a glamor girl............and the less make-up the better. I would love to find someone who is naturally beautiful both inside and outside. I like a woman who can exude radiance in a normal pair of blue jeans and a cute blouse. She would probably have to enjoy nature.......at least a little bit. Sharing a few interests might be a good start too!
