I've lived all over the continental U.S. and twice in Europe. I speak 3 languages including English. I majored in international relations in undergrad, but just completed my Masters in Plant Biology and Conservation, and am now working on my PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, backpacking, swimming, ice skating, skiing, etc. I also am a total gourmand, and enjoy cooking and exploring different foods and cultures.

I'm an avid reader. I enjoy a wide variety of genres, corny romance novels to classic literature, science fiction to non-fiction. One could say that I'm familiar with many topics, but I don't obsess over any of them. (Also, I'm terrible with names - something I'm working on - so if you ask "Do you like ...." I won't know, unless you elaborate on who/what that person has done.)

I enjoy theater a lot. I've been involved in a wide variety of productions, from Shakespeare to the Fantasticks. While I've been on stage a couple of times, I really prefer backstage work. Power tools, you know?

In general, I'm pretty upbeat and like to try new things. Having recently moved to Irvine for grad school, I am looking to make new friends and possibly find romance.
